What exactly does nofeed do?
nofeed is a feedless social browser and optional screen-time shield for iPhone. It hides selected recommendation feeds and short-video entry points while keeping useful mobile-web features.
Which social media platforms are supported?
Platform coverage includes Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, Reddit, Snapchat, Facebook and LinkedIn. Availability and individual features depend on each platform’s mobile website and current filter compatibility.
Can I choose which parts of an app to hide and which to keep?
Use per-feature switches to choose what stays. For example, hide Instagram Reels and Explore while keeping DMs, or hide YouTube Shorts while keeping subscriptions. Available controls vary by platform.
If I hide Instagram Reels, can I still watch a Reel that a friend sends me in a DM?
Directly shared videos may use the same player as the short-video feed. Whether a specific video remains available depends on the platform and your filters. We cannot promise every shared video will work.
Does nofeed block the entire internet or act as a parental control filter?
No. It targets selected feed surfaces and optionally shields selected native apps. It is not a device-wide VPN, comprehensive internet blocker, or parental-control guarantee.
What happens when Instagram or YouTube updates its website layout?
Signed, versioned rule updates are designed to adapt to layout changes. A changed interface can temporarily break filtering; an update or a native-app fallback may be needed.
Can nofeed see my social media passwords, DMs, or two-factor codes?
We never collect or transmit social credentials, session cookies, two-factor codes, DMs or feed content to nofeed servers. You authenticate directly with the social platform in an on-device webview; the platform still processes your activity.
Does nofeed read or record what I look at inside my social accounts?
No message or feed content is collected. Filtering is local. App analytics are limited to consented anonymous aggregate events, with no session replay or screen recording in social webviews. Website analytics are separately optional.
Will using nofeed get my Instagram, YouTube, or X account banned or flagged?
We do not automate likes, follows, messages or scraping. Platforms control their own rules and account enforcement, so no third-party browser can guarantee that an account will never be flagged or restricted.
Do I have to log into my social accounts every time I open nofeed?
Social sessions can persist locally until you sign out or clear them. Platforms may ask you to authenticate again. nofeed servers do not store your social session cookies.
How do I delete my nofeed account and all associated data?
Follow the instructions at /delete-data to delete your nofeed account and synced settings. Clear local social sessions and cancel store subscriptions separately.
What stops me from just opening the regular Instagram or YouTube app when I lose willpower?
iOS Hard Mode uses Screen Time authorization to shield native apps you choose. It adds a boundary, but it is not an unbreakable lock or a guarantee that every route to a platform is blocked.
Can I schedule Hard Mode for specific hours (like workdays or after 10 PM)?
Use Hard Mode’s schedule controls to set focus periods. Review your selected apps and the available unlock options before enabling a shield.
Why does iOS ask for "Screen Time / Family Controls" permission when enabling Hard Mode?
Optional Screen Time authorization lets iOS manage shields for selected apps. The app selection uses system-provided tokens; nofeed does not upload your personal browsing history.
How does nofeed work on Android?
This page links to the iPhone app. Android distribution is separate; use a Google Play link only when one is provided on this website.
Is the Android AccessibilityService safe? Does it read my messages?
An Android Accessibility guard detects interface identifiers locally and triggers navigation away from selected short-video players. It must not record or transmit screen text, keyboard input, credentials or messages. Review the permission disclosure before enabling any guard.
What if I accidentally lock myself out in Hard Mode and have an emergency?
Review the available unlock controls before enabling a shield. Do not rely on this app for emergency access or as a safety control.
How do notifications work if I lock or delete my native social media apps?
Notifications depend on the social platform and operating system. Mobile websites may not offer the same notifications as native apps. Consider keeping only the native notifications you need; nofeed does not promise notification forwarding.
Can I still upload photos, post Stories, or publish videos inside nofeed?
Use features supported by the official mobile website. Native camera effects and editing tools may require the native app; check the app’s available unlock controls for your workflow.
Does nofeed drain battery or slow down my phone?
Battery, data and performance depend on the device, website and usage. We have not verified a measured battery improvement and do not promise one.
What should I do if a feed element briefly appears on one of the platforms?
Note the platform and the surface that appeared, then contact support. Do not send screenshots containing messages, account details or feed content. No fixed repair turnaround is promised.
Why is nofeed a paid subscription instead of a free app?
Subscriptions fund platform filter maintenance and app development. The store shows the current price before you confirm a purchase. We do not sell your data or fund the app with ads.
How do free trials work?
Any trial length, eligibility, renewal date and price are shown by the store before purchase. Review those details and the subscription terms before subscribing.
How do I cancel or manage my subscription?
Manage an Apple purchase in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. For Google Play, open Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your nofeed account does not cancel store billing. See /subscription-terms for official help links.
Can I share my subscription with my partner, roommate, or family?
Sharing depends on the purchased plan and the store’s rules. Only the sharing terms displayed by the store for your plan apply.
